Birth Story of Gorakhnath Ji 

There is a difference of opinion among the scholars during the birth of Gorakhnath. History Sankrityayan considers his birth as the 13th century of 845 AD. It is prevalent in the case of Guru Gorakhnath that once in the order of Bhikshatan, Guru Matsyendranath went to a village. After making voice for a beggar in any one house,woman asked for a son by blessing and giving a blessing. Guru Matsyendranath Sidhu was the only one. Therefore, while accepting the request of the women, he gave a jiggery and said that after taking it, she would become a mother in due course. She will be a great stunning son whose reputation will spread all over.

By giving blessings, Guru Matsyendranath went ahead in his travels. After twelve years, Guru Matsyendranath returned to the same village. Nothing was changed. The village was like that. The order of begging of the master was still continuing. The Guru Matsyendranath who blessed women on his last visit, came to his house and remembered the boy as a child. They made a noise in the house. The same house-owner appeared for re-alms. The Guru Matsyendranath asked about the child.

The women was quiet for a while, but there was no solution except to tell the truth. She has shown little truth, with some hesitation, with little hesitation. He said that after taking a beggar from you, the neighboring women started screaming for believing such a monk that way. By coming to them, I threw it into a junk full of dung.

Guru Matsyendranath was a proven Mahatma. He saw his meditation and immediately went to the dump pit and he called the child. On his call, a twelve year old sharp nose map, a high pedestal and an icon of attraction stood in front of a healthy child. Guru Matsyendranath went with the child. This child is further popularized as Guru Gorakhnath. The gurus of Gorakhnath were Matsyendranath.

 गोरखनाथ का जन्म

गोरक्षनाथ के जन्मकाल पर विद्वानों में मतभेद हैं। इतिहास सांकृत्यायन इनका जन्मकाल 845 ई. की 13वीं सदी का मानते हैं। गुरु गोरखनाथ के जन्म के विषय में प्रचलित है कि एक बार भिक्षाटन के क्रम में गुरु मत्स्येन्द्रनाथ किसी गांव में गए। किसी एक घर में भिक्षा के लिए आवाज लगाने पर गृह स्वामिनी ने भिक्षा देकर आशीर्वाद स्वरूप पुत्र की याचना की। गुरु मत्स्येन्द्रनाथ सिद्ध तो थे ही। अतः गृह स्वामिनी की याचना स्वीकार करते हुए उन्होंने एक चुटकी भर भभूत देते हुए कहा कि इसका सेवन करने के बाद यथासमय वे माता बनेंगी। उनके एक महा तेजस्वी पुत्र होगा जिसकी ख्याति चारों और फैलेगी।

आशीर्वाद देकर गुरु मत्स्येन्द्रनाथ अपने भ्रमण क्रम में आगे बढ़ गए। बारह वर्ष बीतने के बाद गुरु मत्स्येन्द्रनाथ उसी ग्राम में पुनः आए। कुछ भी नहीं बदला था। गांव वैसा ही था। गुरु का भिक्षाटन का क्रम अब भी जारी था। जिस गृह स्वामिनी को अपनी पिछली यात्रा में गुरु ने आशीर्वाद दिया था, उसके घर के पास आने पर गुरु को बालक का स्मरण हो आया। उन्होंने घर में आवाज लगाई। वही गृह स्वामिनी पुनः भिक्षा देने के लिए प्रस्तुत हुई। गुरु ने बालक के विषय में पूछा।

गृहस्वामिनी कुछ देर तो चुप रही, परंतु सच बताने के अलावा उपाय न था। उसने तनिक लज्जा, थोड़े संकोच के साथ सब कुछ सच सच बतला दिया। उसने कहा कि आप से भभूत लेने के बाद पास-पड़ोस की स्त्रियों ने राह चलते ऐसे किसी साधु पर विश्वास करने के लिए उसकी खूब खिल्ली उड़ाई। उनकी बातों में आकर मैंने वह भभूत को पास के गोबर से भरे गड्डे में फेंक दिया था।

गुरु मत्स्येन्द्रनाथ तो सिद्ध महात्मा थे। उन्होंने अपने ध्यानबल देखा और वे तुरंत ही गोबर के गड्डे के पास गए और उन्होंने बालक को पुकारा। उनके बुलावे पर एक बारह वर्ष का तीखे नाक नक्श, उच्च ललाट एवं आकर्षण की प्रतिमूर्ति स्वस्थ बच्चा गुरु के सामने आ खड़ा हुआ। गुरु मत्स्येन्द्रनाथ बच्चे को लेकर चले गए। यही बच्चा आगे चलकर गुरु गोरखनाथ के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुआ। गोरखनाथ के गुरु मत्स्येन्द्रनाथ (मछंदरनाथ) थे।
